Since 1860, the Detroit Fire Department has worked to keep the city from burning. The men and women who spend their days rushing into flames and unstable buildings, put everything on the line to save lives. On average, they fight about seven fires a day, or about 9,000 a year. This is just a tiny part of what they do.
